Laboratory of JV LLC “Toshkent Metallurgiya Zavodi” is a key department for manufacture. Laboratory is responsible for the incoming inspection of hot-rolled coils, various solvents and paint materials, for the quality of manufactured hot dip galvanized steel and hot dip galvanized steel with polymer coating.
Laboratory is equipped with modern high-precision equipment of well-known world leading manufacturers of laboratory equipment in Germany, Switzerland, Japan, USA, Denmark, Korea, China, etc.
There is chemical analysis laboratory, metallurgy laboratory and physical-mechanical tests laboratory in the structure of Plant Laboratory, which in their turn are subdivided into sections.
The physical-mechanical testing laboratory includes the sample and specimen preparation section and the physical-mechanical testing section.
The sample and specimen preparation section is responsible for the timely and efficient preparation of samples. All sheet metal coming in for testing is cut on guillotine shears. Work at the site is performed according to cuts specified in regulatory documents for finished products, namely State Standard 14918-2020 and State Standard 34180-2017. Also, here the surface of the samples is processed on a milling machine to determine the chemical composition in the Laboratory of Chemical Analysis. In addition, the site has a punching press, which allows you to quickly prepare a sample for tensile, thanks to which accelerates the process of conducting tests.
The physical-mechanical testing section is responsible for performing such tests as tensile test, 180° bending, and hardness determination. This section checks hot-dip galvanized steel for compliance with GOST 14918-2020. Tensile test determines tensile strength, yield strength and relative elongation. Rockwell and Brinell hardness meters determine the surface hardness of hot-rolled steel. Bending at 180° is performed to check the bond strength of hot dip galvanized coating with the main metal.
The chemical analysis section is engaged in chemical analysis, in particular, the determination of the chemical and physical parameters of technological solutions used in the production process. Also, the duties of this section include the determination of chloride ions on the surface of pickled hot-rolled steel, the determination of the mass and thickness of the zinc coating, the determination of the chemical composition of the passive film on the surface of hot-dip galvanized steel. The chemical analysis section also determines the chemical composition of the zinc bath melt through spectral analysis. Testing Hot-dip galvanized steel and color-coated hot-dip galvanized steel are tested for corrosion resistance in a salt spray chamber from several hours to several weeks.

Metal Science Laboratory analyzes the microstructure of rolled products. The equipment of the laboratory makes it possible to conduct metal studies at high magnifications, as well as to study the microstructure of hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel. The microscope of the Laboratory of Metallurgy makes it possible to assess the quality of the microstructure and identify the causes of the formation of various types of metal defects.
