Construction history of Tashkent Metallurgical Plant
The strategic course of the plant at the design stage was already determined – to be at the cutting edge of advanced engineering, to implement the latest achievements of world science in the project.
Start of construction
On February 3, 2017, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev launched the construction of the laying capsule.
On April 7, 2017 a major investment project “Construction of the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant” with an annual production capacity of 500 thousand tons of cold-rolled steel was started by the decree of the President of Uzbekistan.
Meeting with the management of the Russian Export Center
On August 17, 2018, during the visit of Uzbekistan’s delegation to Moscow and following a meeting with the leadership of the Russian Export Center, which includes “Roseximbank” and “EXIAR”, “Uzpromstroybank” and Asaka Bank signed loan agreements with the State Specialized Russian Export-Import Bank (Roseximbank) for a total amount of 141.56 million euros.
Visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
On August 29, 2018, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction site. He became familiar with the progress of construction, noted the importance of the factory for the country’s economy, as well as the need to pay special attention to the training of specialists for the enterprise.
Signing ceremony of cooperation agreement
On November 14, 2018, Tashkent hosted a signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement with one of the world’s leading equipment suppliers, Italian company Danieli & C.Officine Meccaniche S.p.A. The Italian company would supply equipment worth 75 million euros to the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant. It will meet the latest requirements and international quality standards.
Signing of the Memorandum of Enterprise Cooperation
On May 13, 2019, a memorandum of cooperation between the enterprise and the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys (NITU “MISiS”) in the field of personnel training was signed at the construction site. According to this document, the parties will carry out joint research programs, projects on creation and development of science-intensive and resource-saving technologies, exchange scientific and technical information, innovative technologies and with specialists to carry out industrial developments, perform scientific research, development and technological works.
Visit of the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation A.V. Gruzdev
On August 28, 2019, within the scope of the International Investment Forum, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation A.V. Gruzdev visited the construction site. During the implementation of the investment project “Construction of the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant”, the Customer and the General Contractor pay special attention to the procurement of equipment, materials, works and services from Russian Suppliers / Manufacturers.
